Neuroscience
Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system, including the brain. It is a hugely interdisciplinary science, using techniques from histology, biochemistry, psychology, and even computer science, amongst others, to try to understand this complex system. While some neuroscientists work at the cellular level, looking at how the neurons in the brain interact via electrical and chemical messages, others study the system as a whole, trying to map the trillions of connections formed, and how these produce our thoughts, feelings and experiences, as well as how they can go wrong in illnesses of the nervous system.
