Educational Psychology
Educational Psychology aims to apply knowledge of how people learn to improve teaching. Some educational psychologists focus on how gifted children can be stretched and encouraged, while others specialise in the best way to help people with learning disabilities, such as Dyslexia. They are able to carry out tests to determine if a child has a learning disability, and what help or support they might need. As well as this, they may work on how to improve school-based learning in general, by researching the way children naturally learn about the world around them, and what the best techniques are to make sure they get the most out of their schooling.
